Are you worrying about your ongoing wedding preparations? Don’t worry this is normal! With so many things going on in your mind and the length of the checklist, you may be feeling overwhelmed with the ideas around how to plan a wedding to make your day not just out of this world but memorable too. On top of this, you may well have never planned a massive event before. Your schedule might be packed with calls from vendors, meetings with stylists, and endless appointments. Take a breath and pause! It is important to take some time for yourself and stay balanced while planning. To help you, I am going to share tips for self care during the wedding planning that you are important to follow to give yourself a break.
Set timelines for tasks planned during the wedding
Give a timeline to all the tasks you have planned for the wedding. Instead of keeping yourself busy throughout the preparations, set aside timelines and give an estimated time of completion for each one of them. For example, you may plan to book the vendors three months before the wedding, plan to send the invites 6-8 weeks before the day itself, and book the stylists and makeup artists two months before the wedding.
With endless preparations going on, you and your partner may find it hard to spend quality time together. Self care during the wedding planning stage is all the more important as the entire process can leave little time for a couple to unwind together. It is not about planning a pleasure holiday but the little things that you can do for each other that can mean a lot. Schedule in some coffee dates, get together for baking or dancing sessions, and spend some quality time alone over dinner.
Sleep
Make sleep a priority! Wedding planning can keep you up all day and night, but sleep is an important foundation that should not be neglected at any cost. Without proper sleep, you may not be able to enjoy your big day to the fullest. Your energy levels will be down, you will feel lethargic and stress will be harder to cope with. Aim for at least 6-8 hours of sleep a night to stay refreshed, balanced, and better able to deal with any challenges that arise.
Exercise
Develop an everyday routine such as exercise. You definitely want to look your best for the big day, so try some mind-calming sessions through yoga or meditation. These practises can help alleviate stress, boost confidence, and reduce anxiety. By spending just 15 minutes each day doing yoga or meditation, you will begin feeling calmer and happier. Such activities get you going and will also put you in a good mood and high spirits.
Eat Well
Self care during the wedding planning is incomplete without healthy eating. A healthy diet must be followed with mindful exercises to be at your best for your special day. Keeping yourself fit through a healthy diet relieves your skin of any unwanted toxins. Eating fresh fruits such as strawberries, apples, grapefruits, and watermelon that are loaded with vitamins and minerals will have you glowing on your big day. Eat lots of healthy fruits, veggies and drink plenty of water for beautiful and strong hair, skin, and nails.
Do something special that is just for you. Having your nails done, attending a mini spa session, getting a massage, watching Netflix, or going out to lunch with a friend can slow down your pace and give you a needed break. And what could be better than soaking in a bubble bath with a glass of wine, good music, and aromatic candles? Remember to put yourself first to make the most of your new beginnings.
Enjoy the moment
