Unique Wedding Venues for your Small Irish Wedding

unique-small-irish-wedding-venues

As weddings continue to change and evolve in our post pandemic world, couples who are planning their Irish weddings are now looking for venues that are more unique to make their small wedding that little bit more special. Ireland has a wealth of country houses and estates that are available to hire that can really turn your small Irish wedding into something magical. A chance for you and your nearest and dearest to gather safely and celebrate in style. So I thought I would highlight for you a few of my favourites.

Fortwilliam House

One of the places in Ireland dearest to my heart is Lismore. For me, it has a feel so unique, with an other worldly feel that when I go there, I feel a million miles from home, even though I live quite close! The backdrop of the Castle and the beautiful shops, cafes and restaurants make this a really special place. And it is here you fill Fortwilliam House, a historic country house nestled along the Blackwater river. Set amongst 400 acres of woodland and breathtaking views, this country house would be the perfect private setting for a small intimate gathering, with a homely yet spacious feel. You can even celebrate your “I Do’s” with a hot air balloon ride over Lismore Castle, it doesn’t get more romantic than that.

Ballintubbert House

Next on my list is Ballintubbert House in Co. Laois. Not too far from Dublin, this could be the perfect venue for an intimate celebration for Dublin couples or those flying in from abroad. Set on 14 acres of beautiful secret gardens, it is a world away from everywhere. Perfect for a summer wedding for couples who wish to host their ceremony outside, with the luxurious backdrop then of the home for your drinks reception. There is even a boutique camping option available for the more adventurous! This house is the perfect blend of luxury and style. A real hidden gem.

Hilton Park

The elegant Hilton Park in Monaghan is next and has a real historical feel to it, almost like something out of a Jane Austen novel. This country estate has a warm charm about it and feels welcoming, ideal for an intimate family weddings where you and your guests get to celebrate in real luxury and style. Weddings here have a real personal feel and with hundreds of acres of woodland, meadows and beautiful gardens, you can pick your favourite spot to have the wedding you always dreamed of.

Wilton Castle

Wilton Castle is a real hidden gem in Wexford and a favourite of mine. It is the perfect blend of history and modernity with the beautifully left Castle remains to the right and an elegant refurbishment to the left boasting elegant rooms and common areas for you and your guests. The gardens here are stunning as well, the perfect backdrops for your photographs, your guests to explore or perhaps a marquee for your wedding celebrations

Kilmokea Country Manor House

And last but not least on my list is Kilmokea Country Manor House in Co. Wexford. This is such a “blow me away” kind of venue! A real luxurious experience for you and your wedding guests. A former Georgian rectory, this country house is set amidst award winning gardens and boasts an indoor swimming pool, a spa for aromatherapy treatments for guests as well as a croquet lawn! Meaning that whilst here, you can truly celebrate in style and safety and realise that your small Irish wedding, was exactly how it was meant to be all along.
