A Ceremony by the Water at Sheen Falls Lodge
Shauna and Denis chose to keep their wedding small and deeply personal. For instance, they decided to invite their closest family members to join them for their special day. Their ceremony was held in the boathouse at Sheen Falls Lodge. This was such a special ceremony and was really meaningful to both them as a couple and a family. With breathtaking views of the water, the setting added a tranquil and romantic element to the heartfelt ceremony led by their celebrant, Jacqui Lee.
The atmosphere was one of family and sentiment. And was made even more touching by the presence of the couple’s children. A particularly sweet touch? Their children, as well as the other junior guests, rang wedding bells just as Shauna and Denis shared their first kiss as husband and wife. This was such an unforgettable moment and one that added that extra touch of magic to their day.

The day began in the charming town of Kenmare, where the talented Annette O’Brien and Debbie McCarthy worked their magic on Shauna’s makeup and hair. As a result Shauna’s look was effortless elegant. Shauna chose a mermaid-style wedding dress that captured the simplicity and sophistication of an intimate winter wedding. She paired this with the pastel and gold tones in her bouquet—created by Enchanted Flowers in Macroom. And Shauna wore stunning heels by Kate Spade, which made her bridal look timeless yet personal.
An Afternoon to Remember for a Wedding at Sheen Falls Lodge
Following the ceremony, the family spent a relaxed afternoon soaking in the splendour of Sheen Falls Lodge. I believe that few venues can match its charm. This venue offers a mix of luxury and comfort in the heart of Kerry. From the cozy Sheen Lounge, where drinks were enjoyed, to the countless breathtaking views framed by every window, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect.
Though the weather brought a touch of rain—a hallmark of Irish Octobers—Shauna and Denis were undeterred. Umbrellas in hand, they strolled along the estate’s covered pathways. And together we created imagery that Shauna and Denis will remember and treasure. The drizzle added, in fact, to the atmosphere, lending a romantic mist to the landscape.
