Fiona and William opted for a winter wedding at The Glenview Hotel, County Wicklow, where the impressive backdrop of the Wicklow Mountains, landscaped gardens, tree-lined driveway and acres of woodland really do make for a photographer’s paradise.
I got such a thrill from capturing the elegant details of their uber-romantic big day: think all-white blooms, lots of greenery, an airily-light dream of a dress and some stunning jewel-encrusted blue-grey satin heels. Winter wedding cliches were given the cold shoulder and sophistication reigned supreme.
Oh, and speaking of cold shoulders, be prepared for the most beautiful bridesmaid dresses I’ve seen in an age: a pair of forest-green, Bardot-neckline beauties, accessorized after the ceremony with some fur stoles. Just perfection.
It was a joy and a privilege to be part of this lovely couple’s big day and I’m delighted with how the images turned out, from the light-soaked shot of Fiona’s bouquet to those timeless, beautifully intimate garden portraits.
One word of advice? It’s always, always worth sneaking off for a couple’s portrait (or five!). Enjoy this little snippet of their day…
