As a wedding photographer I love being creative and taking my photography that little bit further. One great way to do this is on a style shoot. Not only do I get to work with great Irish wedding vendors in some beautiful wedding venues but I also get to imaginatively style a wedding as I would love to see it and then capture it in a way that is unique to me and my style of wedding photography. Recently, I had just the opportunity when I worked on a wedding inspiration shoot at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny, one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph (my twin sister also got married there two years ago yesterday so it holds some very special memories!).
The inspiration behind this shoot was Hollywood glamour, typical of all the glitz and glamour of the Oscars. Sarah Foy’s designs have such a glamourus Oscar-like look and feel to them that I was honored to have the chance to work with this award wining designer. And Sarah’s creations more than speak for themselves as you can see in the images below – her designs are so classic and timeless, I just love them! In order to achieve these glamourous looks we went for dramatic hair and make-up. It was a real thrill for me to capture brides with such dramatic looks, it really added that something special to the images created. The stunning looks were stylishly created by Bridal Hair by Marie and Make Up by Yvonne. The girls style was then given a vintage twist with Bonzie Designs head and neck pieces, which are so unique and individual that again they give the vintage inspired bride a totally original and amazing look on her wedding day. Teamed with stunning shoes from Shoebaloo in Waterford and an exquisite pink bouquet from Flowers by Lucy all the looks created will give 2012 brides lots of ideas for putting their own looks together for their wedding day.
The creative details of the wedding can be equally as important. Couples are always looking for ways to make their day that little bit different and styling their venue has become a very central part of today’s wedding planning for a bride and groom. And we are here to help with ideas for Candy buffets from Sweet Celebrations and lots of beautiful creative details from jewelry to Wedgewood Cuckoo tea sets and Vera Wang champagne flutes, all supplied by Kilkenny Design Centre. And a word about Exclusive Cakes by Erma Barlow, her vintage inspired white cake with cream ribbon and antique brooch added the final stylish touch to the inspiration shoot. You can enquire about Erma’a beautiful creations here and let me vouch for the taste, her cakes are devine!!
A big thank you to all the wedding vendors and supplier who helped bring this wedding inspiration shoot together and my two beautiful models Siobhan and Christina.
I hope you enjoy looking through the images below and get lots of inspiration for your big day!
